1st  Sir CV Raman Memorial award  for outstanding Scientist instituted by Our School will be  presented to   Sri.P.KUNHIKRISHNAN, Project director ,PSLV on 22nd November at 4.00 pm




 Sri. P Kunhikrishnanwas born at Payyannur , Kannur District as the Son of Late Sri. A K P Chinda Poduval and Smt. P Narayani Amma on 30th May 1961.  After B.Tech in Electronics and Communication from College of Engineering, Trivandrum he joined ISRO  in the System Reliability Entity of VSSC in 1986. He became Associate Project Director of the successful PSLV – C12/RISAT – 2 Mission in January 2009 and Vehicle Director for the successful launch of PSLV – C14.  Sri. P Kunhikrishnan became the Project Director of PSLV Project in June 2010. He was the Mission Director of twelve successful PSLV Missions, including the prestigious PSLV-C 25/Mars Orbiter Mission, the recent launch of PSLV-26 with India’s 3rd Navigation Satellite IRNSS-1C and also PSLV-C21, the 100th Mission of ISRO. As Mission Director of PSLV- C25, he successfully accomplished the precise placement of the Mars Orbiter (Mangalyan) in the initial Earth-bound parking orbit on 5th Nov. 2013. He is continuing his career as Project Director of PSLV  programme. Sri. P.Kunhikrishnan is the recipient of ISRO Individual Merit Award -2010 and Astronautical Society of India award-2011.

Considering his exceptionally meritorious service, extra ordinary tenacity, professional diligence and intense devotion to duty in the field of Space Science, the Sir C V Raman Award Committee unanimously bestow the 1st C V Raman Memorial Award for Outstanding Scientist.
